I promise I will have some fun nail designs to show you by the end of the week but I got a little bit of inspiration to talk about one of my other favorite topics today…TRAVELING! 🙂
When I think of vacationing, I usually almost always think of a white sandy beach and turquoise waters. This topic might not apply to everyone today, but for those of my readers who live in Southwestern Utah, do you know how lucky we are to have AMAZING world class spa resorts all within a few hours of our doorstep??? I’ve put together a list of a few of my favorites. How I determined my favorites are location and poshness. I have yet to visit most of these places, but as I’ve always said, a girl can dream right?
1. Amangiri Resort–Lake Powell, Arizona
I’m going to let the pictures do the talking for a minute…
Amazing right? I’d never heard of the Aman Resorts until I worked on a lady at Studio 359 who was visiting from Houston, Texas. She has stayed at several Aman Resorts throughout Asia and told me they are one of the top resort chains in the world. Amangiri is a little over 2 hours from St. George and only 25 minutes from Page, Arizona. Aman Resorts are known as some of the poshest places to stay in the world and Amangiri is no different…rooms run anywhere from $900-$3500 a night.
2. Mandarin Oriental–Las Vegas, Nevada
Almost any spa on the Las Vegas strip would be good enough for my list, but I chose the Mandarin Oriental because it is the top rated hotel on Tripadvisor for Las Vegas and their spa was top rated on almost every review site I looked at. Growing up a few hours north of Las Vegas in rural Nevada, I used to dread visiting Las Vegas when I was little. Times have changed drastically since those days and now I can’t wait for our next trip to Sin City! All the resorts on the Strip are amazing…my son loves it as much as my husband and I do! I love that it’s only 1.5 hours from home too!
3. Flanigan’s Inn–Springdale, Utah (Zion National Park)
Zion National Park and Springdale, Utah are seriously one of my very favorite places to visit! There are so many great hotels in Springdale but I chose to feature Flanigan’s because they have the Deep Canyon Adventure Spa attached to their resort which would be a great way to end a day filled with hiking and sightseeing. Flanigan’s is not the poshest hotel in Springdale but their rooms are very comfortable and luxurious. They have detached villas that are very nice but they fill up quickly so book in advance if you really want a villa. The grounds are absolutely stunning and the restaurant on site is amazing. I love the Desert Pearl, The Cliffrose Lodge, and The Cable Mountain Lodge as well all of which are within easy walking distance to Flanigan’s spa. None of the hotels in Springdale are a “resort” per se but Springdale, in my opinion, is one of the most charming towns in the U.S. and I because it is so close to St. George I had to include it on my list. 🙂
4. The Inn at Entrada–St. George, Utah
I would not hesitate to take a little “stay”cation at this amazing resort. Entrada’s grounds are breathtaking, the rooms are phenomenal, and to top it off they now offer spa services. This place really is amazing!
My husband and I are actually planning a little trip out to the Zion area next month and I am super excited…obviously. 🙂 We are staying at the Zion River Resort which isn’t on my list because it doesn’t meet the “posh” criteria…but what it lacks in poshness it makes up for in “awesomeness” and we are taking a little bit of an adventure vacation anyway for the Red Bull Rampage…I’ll tell you more about it later. 🙂
I’ve left out so many more amazing destinations! I feel guilty not including Green Valley Spa and Red Mountain Spa in this list, as well as so many spots by the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas…the list could go on and on! I love everything about St. George and the fact that it is near so many amazing places to visit makes it even more wonderful! Hopefully in my lifetime I will get the chance to visit all of these resorts!
I would love to hear if any of you have been to these places or if you aren’t from the area, what amazing spa resorts are near your hometown! :))))
Thanks for reading and I’ll be back soon with some fun nails!

Hey Chicnailstyles,
Thanks for that, I’m planning a last minute girls getaway just me and my best friend this weekend. We wanted to go to a place where there was a luxury spa that has lodging kind of like the Sundara Inn and Spa. We really wanted to go there but the place is booked. The plan was a 2 or 3 night stay. Any suggestions?
Nice One!

Hi Lonnie,
I am not familiar with the Sundara Inn and Spa–I checked online to look at it and the only one I could find is in Maryland. 🙂 Was that a typo? Let me know! Sounds like an awesome trip! 🙂
