Twinkle Toes

Her first pedicure

Her first pedicure

My grandmother Irene Milne Bulloch had her first pedicure yesterday. She is going to be 90 years old in January.

It was an exciting experience for several reasons, three of which I’ve listed below:

1. She has never had her toes painted before (at least that she can remember.)

2. She grew up right down the street from Hot Nails 🙂

3. She scheduled a manicure when she left, which must means she had a good time.

She didn’t want to come. My mom pretty much had to drag her out of the house. She’s a little bit of a homebody, but I can’t say

I really blame her. It was fun talking to her about cosmetology. Some of her questions included the following: “Is there

anywhere in St. George where you can work when you graduate?”, “How much do women

pay to have this done?”, “Do you like doing this?” 🙂

As you can tell, it sounds like she is a little bit sceptical about my career choice, and that’s okay. By the time

I got to the foot massage and she started falling asleep in the oversized leather chair, I knew all my hard

work had paid off! Mom even got a big smile out of her when she told her she was going to start calling

her Twinkle Toes. I love this job!
