Check out these cute nails!
My friend Nicole scheduled her Thanksgiving appointment and said she wants silver, gray, black, and white colors but I get to choose the design. I had a couple days to get ready which I’m not sure is a good thing because I got slightly obsessive about it! Eek! I spent hours on Instagram looking for those colors and I really couldn’t find anything I loved…so I got out the sketch pad and went to work. 🙂
I told Nicole when I started to reign me in if it’s getting too crazy but she didn’t stop me…and we both really loved the outcome! The only thing I would have done differently is added a little sparkle to the French tips on the thumb and pinkie. I watched this video from Lisa Rinaldi Silvestro to learn the houndstooth pattern
Gina Rinaldi Silvestri Nail Video
I tried to find a good YouTube video to post but I didn’t like the way anyone taught Houndstooth on there! Gina’s method is the best one I’ve found so just follow the link to her video.
I used OPI Alpine Snow and Black Onyx (but think I am going to switch back to Gelish or buy some Luxio because Black Onyx is terrible to apply no matter how much I shake it.) I also used CND Shellac Silver Chrome and Gelish JetSet. The studs are from Sally Beauty.
I do a thick coat of Brisa Lite Smoothing Gel for the base on Nicole to give her some extra strength but I think I might switch to something else because it keeps hardening up in the dispenser tub. I’ve still got 3/4 of they in left but most of it has cured hard. 🙁 Boo.
So these are Nicole’s super styling holiday Thanksgiving nails! Her sisters are going to be so jealous…but maybe I’ll get to do their nails too :)))
Hope everyone has an amazing weekend! How are you doing with my Love Your Body Challenge???? :)))
