Manis on Monday!

I cannot believe Thanksgiving is over! The holidays are flying right by us and before we know it 2014 will be here! However, I have a feeling the cold spell coming upon us this week will slow time down at least for a little while. 🙂

Last week was busy with baking and cleaning but I also had a few last minute nail appointments as well, which is great! I feel like I haven’t been super busy with nails lately so I always look forward to seeing my few friends and clients when it’s time for new nails. 🙂

Everyone definitely stuck to a winter/fall color scheme but we really didn’t do a lot of Thanksgiving nail art…which doesn’t make me sad. I’m not a big fan. I love fall nail art–feathers, leaves, flowers, etc…but if someone wanted me to draw a turkey on their nails I’m not sure I could pull it off. Although this look is kinda cute…

Thanksgiving-Inspired Nails

This is what I created last week 🙂 Here are Tennille’s Lincoln Park After Dark nails with grey and nude accents.
Lincoln Park After Dark OPI GelColor with Houndstooth and Roses

I hand painted the houndstooth and roses. Right now my freehand houndstooth is very “Monet”ish if you know what I mean…I need to find either a gel polish that is stiffer and doesn’t run or use acrylic or laquer paints.

I love this outfit from Polyvore to go with these nails!

Here are a few Rose Gold nails I did on Jessica and Cami. It’s really hard to recreate an exact rose gold color but we came close with Gelish Drama Queen, Martha Stewart “Copper” Craft Glitter and Gelish June Bride. The trick is to combine the right amounts of pinks and golds and coppers.

And that about sums up my week! Oh, I can’t believe I forgot to tell you the most exciting news of all! We had a baby appointment on Tuesday and found out we are having another little boy! Yay! I admit I was sorta hoping for a girl but I just love my little boy so much I know another one will be twice the fun and love 🙂 I have another appointment on December 20th I believe and they want to do another ultra sound so I’ll have some more developed pictures to show off then. So far he is healthy and I am too so things are good. I’m gaining a little more weight than I would like but I feel good and I am actually kinda looking forward to the weight loss challenge after he gets here in early summer.

Once again thanks for reading! I would love to hear how your Thanksgiving went! Hope you have a great week!
