My first trip to Ulta!

I had the magical opportunity of visiting the new Ulta store in St. George today. I should have been home cleaning and showering but I thought, “I’m just going to stop in real quick to try the new Benefit mascara my sister was telling me about….”

I should have known better right????

It really did end up being a fairly short trip. I was still in my sweaty Crossfit clothes, no makeup, dirty hair….not a great look for the local beauty store. I am not mad, but none of the nice girls wanted to help me….or maybe I was just being insecure looking so UN-cute and they felt my vibes and decided to stay away….who knows what happened? Can you tell I’m fascinated by the total sales process??? Haha 🙂 Needless to say, they were out of the mascara (more on that later) but a very nice salesperson helped me buy a microdermabrasion/glycolic peel product I’ve been wanting to try. I could have spent a thousand hours in there but exited quickly and headed home….$89 later……probably because I couldn’t wait to try my new product! And take a shower!

So I get home, shower, wash off my sweat, and proceed to scrub my face! I love scrubbing my face and I really liked my new face scrub! My skin has never felt so soft and my makeup went on very smooth! The salesperson also included a sample of their face wash, which he said to mix with the Microderm product and scrub it all together. Good advice! The brand is DermaDoctor Physical Chemistry microdermabrasion and multi-acid chemical peel. I’m only going to post a pic of the product right now. I can only use it once a week because it is very intense, but I will post in a month or two with my results. It claims to help with wrinkles, sun damage, dark spots…..all that FUN stuff! I am diligent about using products like this….if the results are amazing I will continue to use it the rest of my life. The only thing I would prefer would be something all-natural. I don’t like putting a lot of chemicals on my body. I have a theory about chemicals…..they aren’t good for us. 🙂 But sometimes I sacrifice health for beauty. I know it’s not right and I will work on it. I promise.

DermaDoctor Microdermabrasion and Chemical Peel–home based product!

So Ulta was fun….can’t wait to go back! Although their prices seemed considerably higher than Wal-Mart or Target for drugstore brand products. For salon quality products I would buy with my license at Cosmoprof….so I will mostly be utilizing the high end makeup section….when my wallet will allow it. 🙂 Keep an eye out for my sister’s post on the Benefit mascara I was mentioning earlier….I hear it’s amazing! Thanks for reading and let me know if you’ve tried this Microdermabrasion product, what your thoughts are on salespeople and the sales process, and where your favorite place to buy makeup and beauty products is! Hope you all have a sensational weekend!
