Another Great Day at Hot Nails

Blueberry Slush acrylic nails

It is my goal as a new nail tech to always push myself to stay busy with any task and learn something new every day. I went in to work today around Noon because my little boy has been sick and I wanted to stay home with him all morning. We had a great morning spending time together (and watching Spongebob…) and then I left for work right around the time he was getting ready for a nap.

I didn’t have any appointments when I got to work, so I set out to categorize and display all my colors on cards. It was a very time consuming and messy job, but I finally got it completed, and right when I was finishing the last drop, the phone rang for a full set of nails. I was so excited because I was the only one working at the salon, so guess who the lucky girl was?? That’s right, your truly. It is so exciting in a new nail tech’s career when she (or he) starts making their first appointments!

Laticia got to the salon right away. She was a very bubbly, friendly girl who knew she wanted a bright color and something fun. She picked out the Blueberry Slush glitter, and I talked her into the white glitter on her smile line. I am still building up my speed, so it took me a few hours, but when we were done, I think the finished product turned out great! And we had a good conversation too (although I am not the best conversationist when I am working, unfortunately…) Laticia is a cosmetologist student herself who grew up in the area and is passionate about hair and fashion and beauty. She was an extremely fun client and I truly hope she LOVES her nails!

Hope everyone has a great night!

      Hi Sue,
This was a while ago, but I believe it’s a mix of Martha Stewart Blueberry slush glitter and EZ Flow clear powder–I mix a 2:1 ratio of acrylic:glitter….
