I have been begging my beautiful friend Ashley to let me paint her nails for a long time. Well, honestly I started begging a few weeks ago….before that I only dreamed and fantasized of painting her perfect nails (sorry Nicole!)…..
And I am happy to announce that my dreams finally came true! π Haha π Aren’t her nails just absolutely beautiful?!?! She tells me while I’m prepping them for the polish, “I’ve chopped them down because they just grow so fast so let me know if you want them longer next time, I’ll leave them long….” Man, how would it be???? They are so hard too, which would explain why her polish always holds up so well. I’m super happy for her that she has such lovely nails….they match her lovely self! π (I hope I don’t come across as condescending but I don’t know if I have ever met a kinder, nicer, sweeter girl…..ever…..)
Sooooo back to this fun manicure/polish job we did. I brainstormed for a few weeks when she consented to me painting her nails….what color would I do???? It was a fairly easy choice because For Audrey by China Glaze is my all time favorite color. I bought it for the first time 2-3 years ago before this whole mint green/Tiffany Blue trend got started…..maybe you’ve noticed the whole world covered in mint green skinny jeans and scarves and jewelry and shoes lately???? I knew For Audrey would look amazing on Ashley’s nails and I also wanted some new pictures for my website slide show so I knew it would contrast perfectly with my pink theme on my site. On a side note, I LOVE all shades of the color green! My son asked yesterday why all the trees are dead and I explained they aren’t dead, they are dormant and HOPEFULLY in a few weeks they will start coming back to life again….with lots of shades of green! I love, love, love green! π
Once I decided on For Audrey as the main color, I started racking my brain for ideas on the complimenting color scheme. I saw a Tiffany themed mani where they used white and gold so I’m not gonna lie, I stole it. But of course I enhanced it and made it better, right?!?! π
I pretty much spelled the mani out on my sketch up above, but just to make it more clear, I used China Glaze For Audrey on the two middle fingers and OPI Alpine Snow on the pointer and pinkie. The thumb is a China Glaze Gold Glitter. I can’t remember the name and I am sooooo sorry! Once I find it I’ll add it to the comments…..
I placed gold studs I bought on www.dollarnailart.com on the pointer and the pearl and rhinestone bows were built from tiny pearls I bought at Michaels. I am going to start retailing nail products on my site and hope to be able to offer these types of nail art products soon….check back for updates! I made sure to press the studs, pearls, and rhinestones hard into the slightly wet polish so that they will stay on and last longer.
I topped the nails off with Seche Vite and voila! All done! Sorry I don’t have better pictures—I wanted to get some in daylight but we ran out of light and I didn’t see Ashley today at Crossfit….durn it! Maybe I’ll call her tomorrow and ask if I can take anotherΒ picture of her nails….if you don’t hear from me ever again it’s because she placed a restraining order on me and I’ve been banned from all things nail per the judges orders…eeeeeek! π
Thanks for checking out my posts and let me know if you have any questions! If I get Ashley and Nicole’s permission I’ll post some more hilarious pics from our “photo shoot”! π
