OPI GelColor Pastels–Gargantuan Green Grape

Mint Gel Polish Review

I’ve been on the hunt for a great mint gel polish for a very long time. Gelish Mint of Spring is pretty and I use it a ton but I feel like it’s more of a turquoise than a mint color. I think the closest Gelish match would be Seafoam. Below are Mint of Spring, Seafoam, and Gargantuan Green Grape. I can’t believe how blue the Gelish mints look next to Gargantuan Green Grape.

I really wanted to pick up China Glaze Gelaze Re-Fresh Mint but then I popped into the beauty supply store and found this color and figured I would try it out first. 🙂

This is a perfect mint in my opinion. Very similar to Essie Mint Candy Apple.

“Pastel” Gargantuan Green Grape is a jelly finish. It took three thin coats to get full coverage and I actually had to touch up a few spots that didn’t cure very well with an additional coat.

This is the second “Pastel” GelColor I have used and each time I have had a hard time getting them to cure fully. They seemed to cure fine when I swatched them which is kind of strange. Just make sure to shake and mix them really well each time you use them.

I wonder too if the OPI LED Gel Light might cure them better also. My Gelish LED light only has six lightbulbs and it’s hard to get my fingers in the exact right spot, whereas the OPI light has 48 bulbs I believe which would allow for better light distribution.

I love this design--it's such a fun pattern!

I love this design–it’s such a fun pattern!

I found this design from Christabell Nails on Instagram. She is an amazing nail artist and also has a YouTube channel. Here’s a video on how to do this design:

I used China Glaze Good As Gold as the base gold color and then did the second layer with the Gargantuan Green Grape Gel Polish. I wish I would have done the gold pattern, did a gel top coat, and then did the Green pattern–it would have created a cool quilted effect.

My cuticles are just horrendous right now because I’ve been doing a lot of gardening and thought it would be too much work to put my gardening gloves on. What is wrong with me?

Re-Create the Look!

Here are a few products to help you re-create this look. The baroque pattern would be very cute on toes too!

And here’s an outfit I put together on Polyvore. The dress is from Target and I love it so much! There’s another spaghetti strap dress in the same collection but I couldn’t find it on their website. I guess it’s only in the store right now. Most of Target’s shoes and clothes are Buy One, Get One Half Off right now, just to let ya know!

Spring Bling

As always, let me know if you have any questions! I plan on swatching more Pastels soon!

Thanks so much for reading!
