This has been an amazing day! Not only are the leaves turning the most beautiful fall colors in St. George (I LOVE fall!!!), but I enjoyed my first day of nail school at Hot Nails in Washington! Yay!! What a perfect time to start a new journey in life! 🙂
I had a great first day! My instructor, Vicki Nelson, went over a basic orientation. She and the rest of the staff were recovering from a very busy Twilight party on Saturday (how fun!) so it was fairly laid back today. I met another student, Alma, who started in October. She had some fun black and baby pink tips on! I can’t wait for my first full set! I haven’t had nails for a while (I think since my first born came into the world over three years ago) so it will be a fun change 🙂
I actually did a VERY chaperoned manicure on Vicki’s daughter Stephanie. It was soooo nice of her to sit through my FIRST manicure and I will never forget her generosity!!! 🙂 I think it went pretty well, but I am sure I have a long ways to go…
I called my mom when I got off and asked her to by my model–she said she is going to come by tomorrow for a manicure. Can’t hardly wait!!!
I love that I got home in time to take Westin for an afternoon walk down to the park. With my last career, I was putting in LONG stressful hours and did not have the time or energy to do much with my son after work, so I am looking forward to having extra time to spend with my adorable little boy and amazing husband.
I admit, I am nervous about this career choice. But I have always tried not to let the fear of failure dictate my decisions, and I know if I am able to mix hard work with a drop of ambition, all kinds of opportunity will present itself!
Wish me luck–and stop by Hot Nails in Washington for my world famous Manicure treatment if your out and about!

Anna
