Vintage Roses for Fall

I got the chance to do my cute friend April’s nails today and I had so much fun chatting with her and coming up with these fun nails! She’s a hairstylist (an amazing hairstylist) and pretty much just said, “You’re the nail tech…take it away!” I showed her a few pics from Instagram and we both agreed on a vintage vibe that is perfect for this brisk fall weekend!

We used Gelish Black Shadow for the black nails and one coat of OPI GelColor Did You ‘Ear About Van Gogh with three coats of Gelish June Bride for the ring finger. For the roses I “splotted” on OPI Alpine Snow and created very distract roses and cured. I then filled in with Shellac Rose Bud for the roses and cured. Next I traced petals with OPI Strawberry Margherita and cured and finally I did the leaves with OPI Thanks a Windmillion. And cured. The roses look brighter in this pic than they do in real life too by the way.

It sounds like a long process but it really isn’t. And I love doing flowers because they are super easy…you just kinda splotch the paint on there, make sure to add some dimension with a darker color, add some little leaves, and your good to go!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how these turned out! I drew the inspiration from these nails of Kaitlin Ferland’s and would have loved to do studs on April but we opted against them because I didn’t feel like they would stay put for very long with her hands being in the shampoo bowl all day long…

It’s an exciting weekend in St. George! The St. George Marathon is tomorrow and fall is in the air! I LOVE this time of year! I hope everyone is loving life and October is off to a great start for you!

Thanks for reading!
