4th of July Nails and Marie Claire Giveaway Link

4th of July and Patriotic Nailart

I honestly love the 4th of July so much…for so many reasons. The top reason being that we live in the greatest country in the world and I love the USA so much! 🙂 My birthday might be the day before the 4th of July as well, so for as long as I can remember every time we celebrate my birthday fireworks and huge festivities are involved which always made me feel super special. My mom used to always buy me the cutest little red, white, and blue outfit on my birthday and I would wear it with the extreme pride at the Caliente, Nevada 4th of July Parade, which was the ultimate small town 4th of July celebration. I loved it then and I love it now.

I really think summer time is the best in Utah because July 24th is Pioneer Day or Utah Day so I can leave my patriotic decorations up from Flag Day, June 14th, all the way till the end of July and into August. I love it!

So it would seem obvious that I love 4th of July nail art!

Here are some Patriotic Nails I did for my friend Kelle yesterday…I used Gelish soak off gel polish for all the designs except the white ring finger is OPI GelColor Alpine Snow and I used a royal blue acrylic paint to hand paint the blue stripes on her ring finger. I layered Hot Rod Red with All Tied Up With a Bow for the red nails. Love it!

Here are some cute nails I did for my friend Ashley today–I’m so happy she was all right with 4th of July Nails :))) We used Gelish Good Gossip for the red which is my favorite sparkly red gel polish. For the blue I layered My Favorite Accessory Stuff with two coats of Ocean Wave–I love the blue color this created! I hand painted the stripes and heart with OPI Alpine Snow (my favorite white gel polish–I love Gelish Artic Freeze but it tends to wrinkle really bad if applied to thickly whereas I can apply Alpine Snow heavily with no wrinkling…) I used Gelish Waterfield for the silver sparkle fade on the tips and then placed silver and gold studs I bought on www.dollarnailart.com on her thumbs. Ashley has the most amazing nail beds by the way. I’ve mentioned this in posts past. I bet her gel polish would last all year long if she never cut her nails! Check out pics of her nails HERE, HERE, and HERE 🙂

Now I just need to figure out how to do my nails for 4th of July/California Vacation! I’m leaning towards Gelish Good Gossip…I never get tired of red. Perhaps I’ll even do a simple cream red such as Shellac Wildfire. I love OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui as well for a great summer 4th of July Blue–maybe I’ll do that with Big Apple Red and Alpine Snow…ugh! I can’t decide! 🙂

One more thing before I go…Marie Claire is having a survey. If you enter, you get a chance to win $150 and be featured in their magazine. There’s a question on the survey who your favorite nail blogger is. Chic Nail Styles is not listed among the top blogs, but there’s a spot at the bottom to fill in your favorite blog. Soooo, if you don’t mind clicking on the link below and voting for me, that would be so awesome! I don’t expect to win, but it would be so cool to at least get on Marie Claire’s radar!
